Scientific
Name
Tenodera aridifolia sinensis
Adult
Up to 2.5 inches, green or brownish with large papery
wings.
Eggs
In Fall, females deposit eggs in a frothy
secretion which hardens to form a brown or beige
egg case, attached to a plant stem. (Contains 40-50
eggs).
Larva
All hatch within one or two hours and
they are awesome! The cases do not change
in appearance.
Feeds On
Anything they can catch - good or pest insects. They are
very territorial.
Shipped
In egg case, in a resealable paper bag.
Release
Attach to plant, 2" – 3" above the ground.
To see them hatch, keep case in sealed paper bag in south window – check
daily. Can take up to eight weeks in warm weather to hatch.
Rates
3 egg cases per 50 x 100 sq. feet or 10
to 100 per acre.
Notes: Only sold January-July 15. Must
be hatched by the end of July, in time to mature
and lay eggs to overwinter.
